Setting the tone for the Spring Racing season, the 2015 BMW Caulfield Cup Carnival is expected to make another stylish start with A-team Lana Wilkinson and Jade Kisnorbo returning to their roles as Melbourne Racing Club (MRC) Stylist and Make Up Artist respectively.
The fashion programme was developed to highlight the unique opportunity the BMW Caulfield Cup Carnival presents, to be more creative and colourful with race day looks. Unlike the Melbourne Cup Carnival, traditional dress codes and colour schemes do not apply at Caulfield and it’s also the first time racegoers get to interpret new season’s looks trackside.
With this in mind, Lana has collaborated with Manning Cartell, Ginger & Smart, CAMILLA AND MARC and Bianca Spender to curate four looks inspired by Caulfield racecourse using the fabrics and colour palettes from the designers’ SS15 collections.
“I’m enjoying working with the Melbourne Racing Club again this year. The first carnival of the season, the BMW Caulfield Cup Carnival sets the fashion expectation for the season and showcases the key trends. The carnival allows you be more creative and trend focused as the traditional racing guidelines are more relaxed,” says Lana.
David Jones Racing Ambassador, Montana Cox, Headlines the Caulfield-inspired collection in a bespoke jumpsuit designed by Bianca Spender. Hand-sewn and designed as a modern take on suit tailoring, the jumpsuit was first modelled by in a content series created for the BMW Caulfield Cup Carnival.
Lana also worked closely with Manning Cartell, Ginger & Smart and CAMILLA AND MARC to create her race day looks, teaming up the outfits with cut-out ankle boots, unique headpieces and the latest accessories.

“The Caulfield Cup presents racegoers with the opportunity to be a little more adventurous with their outfit. A great tailored look such as a pant suit or structured blazer will always look sophisticated and polished. The key is to not look too overdone at the track” says Camilla Freeman Topper of CAMILLA AND MARC.
