Emirates Reveal Germany as their Melbourne Cup Carnival Marquee Theme

Emirates have announced they will be bringing a taste of Germany to this years Melbourne Cup Carnival with the announcement that their 2014 marquee will encompass the modern sophistication, fairy-tale fantasy and exquisite cultural diversity of Germany.

The theme ties in with the airline’s expansive route network of four German destinations – Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich and Dusseldorf.

The fairy-tale façade of Germany’s most famous architectural icon – Neuschwanstein Castle, complete with turrets, flags and towers – will greet race-goers as the largest and most impressive marquee of the Birdcage, with a prime view over the racecourse.

The marquee will feature bright pieces of furniture to pop against the crisp, fresh interior; a surprising mix of tradition with bold design strokes. Far from biergartens and bratwurst – the interior of the marquee will honour a cool and contemporary Germany, with exquisite detailing and exceptional finishes.

The exclusive guest list will be treated to an impressive menu of German-inspired delicacies, expressive of the country’s iconic cuisine with a modern twist, which has evolved through many centuries of social and political change. Speaking of guests, the big question is who will the airline fly in for their 2014 carnival? We have our fingers crossed that there will be a winning world cup player and trophy on display…

Entertainment will also reflect the German theme, which is yet to be announced, and as always promises to provide race-goers with a heap of excitement across the week.
